Country star Trisha Yearwood contracted the novel coronavirus COVID-19, her husband, Garth Brooks, announced via Facebook on Wednesday.
Brooks, 59, and Yearwood, 56, are currently quarantining in-house on the heels of a recent positive Covid test by a member of their team, according to a report by “Team Garth” as of Wednesday night.
“Subsequent tests they have undergone in recent days have shown that Trisha Covid has recovered, while Garth remains negative.”
“Officially,” Brooks adds, “Yearwood is now being diagnosed ‘on his way out of the tunnel,’ for which I am very grateful. ‘
The recent winter storms that have covered much of the country have prevented Yearwood and Brooks from being tested for some time.
“Anyone who knows me knows my world begins and ends with Miss Yearwood, so she and I will ride through this together,” Brooks said. “And everyone who knows her knows that she’s a fighter and that she did everything right, so I know we’ll walk out on the other side of things together.”
Yearwood is “so far well, but has symptoms”, but Brooks adds that “the possible long-term effects on her [voice] worries me as her husband and as a fan, “and notes:” We are very happy that she currently has the best care in the best city to treat and cure singers. ”
Yearwood and Brooks have been friends and musical partners pre-romance for years; when they first met, they were both married to other people. After their respective divorces, they dated in 2002, and Brooks proposed to Yearwood on stage in 2005; the couple married later that year and Yearwood became a stepmother to Brooks’ three daughters from his previous marriage.
Brooks, a registered Republican, jumped into the spotlight again in January when he performed at President Biden’s inauguration. He will also be honored during the annual Kennedy Center Honors in May.
