Trevor Lawrence skips medical exams to get married

Personal medical examinations are taking place this weekend for NFL draft prospects, and nearly 150 potential doctors are already in Indianapolis checking and scanning ahead of the draft on April 29th.

However, not one person will join them: probably Trevor Lawrence as no. The Clemson quarter had to undergo surgery in February to repair a torn labrum in his left shoulder. Although it seems strange that he lacks medical examinations that can show how his surgical recovery heals shoulder, he has a very good reason to be absent. According to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, he is getting married to his girlfriend Marissa Mowry this weekend.

Lawrence and Mowry have been engaged since July 2020, when he introduced her on the field at Clemson’s Memorial Stadium.

It’s a little strange that a possible top choice with a healing shoulder just completely misses these medical examinations, but Lawrence has nothing to lose or gain by missing them. He is the consensus no. 1 and getting married, instead of an MRI, will not change that. Are the Jacksonville Jaguars going to snatch a potential franchise quarter from their draft list because he decided to tie the knot? Even though it feels like a lot of Jaguars thing to do, they will not even do it.

Congratulations and good luck to Trevor and Marissa. Getting married on a Saturday with the love of your life sounds infinitely more enjoyable than getting physical things with 150 fellow prospects.
