Trello today built a “once in a decade refresh” of its project management software, which added new visualization options and smarter maps to the platform. There are four new viewing modes for Trello boards: timeline, calendar, table and dashboard. It is accessible by clicking on the “Board” tab, which now opens a menu of the various options.
Timeline makes it easier to visualize projects that span multiple days or phases, and that are displayed for more than two weeks at a time.

The calendar mode is exactly what it sounds like – a traditional month-long calendar with maps on the appropriate dates. When you move a map to a new day on the calendar, the expiration date is automatically updated.
Table view allows users to organize more than one board on one page, outlined in a simple list of information, including icons, labels, members, and deadlines.

Finally, the dashboard provides statistics that outline your Trello situation in pie and bar graphs.

“In the near future, you will be able to pull together maps of all your team’s boards as you can with Table, but also with Calendar, Timeline and Dashboard,” reads a Trello blog post. “With stored filters, you can instantly retrieve the information you need in the version you want, whether it’s a calendar of your work, a timeline of enterprise projects, or a dashboard of current workload.”
Trello also made his cards smarter. There are three fresh card types: switch, board and mirror. Calling cards allow users to drop a URL in the title of a card and fill in relevant information, including previews of YouTube, Google Drive, Instagram, Dropbox and other applications. With board maps, users can drop a link to another Trello board in the title space, creating a direct link to the space. Mirror cards are coming in the next few months, which will allow users to clone a card on multiple boards.
The Trello logo, illustrations and the standard bar also got a gleam. The sidebar is now organized according to workspace. So, start working, people.
