A train from Burlington in northern Santa Fe (BNSF) collided with an 18-wheeler outside Cameron, Texas, on Tuesday morning, police confirmed to Fox News.
An explosion occurred as a result of the accident, and according to Cameron police, authorities described the collision as a dangerous situation.
The BNSF train carried mixed cargo and derailed near Hoyte. The train was hit by a semi-truck, which had an impact on a [train] car transporting petrol, ”Courtney Wallace, senior director of BNSF Railways, confirmed to Fox News from external communications.

Of the total of 110 train carriages, 13 derailed, Wallace said, referring to initial reports. Five train carriages carrying petrol are still on fire.
“There were no injuries to the crew or truck driver. Local first responders and BNSF staff are on site to respond to the incident,” Wallace said. “Out of sheer caution, local authorities have established a half-mile radius evacuation zone near the site. The cause is being investigated.”

The police first received a report of the accident around 06:45 and sent the relevant assistance to the scene.
Milam County Sheriff Chris White will share more information about the collision later this morning.
