Francois recalls an incident in 2017 in which Dobrik tricked him into defending Jason Nash, a fellow member of the Vlog group, by telling him that Nash was a disguised woman.
He told BuzzFeed News that he did not give permission for the kiss, and that it felt ‘wrong’. After confronting Dobrik and Nash about the situation, Francois said they offered him money to keep the video on the channel.
“If they do not know what is wrong and they do not understand that what they did was wrong, it makes me feel that it could still happen,” Francois said. ‘Or maybe has happens to other people who are afraid to talk. ‘
In his apology video last week, Dobrik said, “I’m sorry for Seth.”
“I just want to make videos where everyone – whether you participate or watch – enjoy and have fun,” he said. “I missed the point with that one, and I’m really sorry. I really am.”
