Toro recalls snowflakes due to amputation hazard

The Toro Company recalls more than 7,400 snow blowers sold in the U.S. and Canada to repair a problem that poses an amputation hazard. The recall of the defective product comes with much of the land covered with snow, including states like Texas and Georgia that usually do not see the winter weather conditions that plows and digs bring to the fore.

The Minnesota-based Bloomington company has received five reports of incidents where the torso of its Toro Max Snowthrower could not disengage when the control lever was released, according to a notice posted by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission.

No injuries were reported.

The Canadian government has also issued a recall of the product, saying that roller pins located in the handle assembly can break and fall out, which can prevent the auger / fan from disengaging and rotating at full speed when the engine is running. .

Canada Health said the company had received four reports of missing rolling pins in Canada, and no reports of injuries.
