Top 4 Candidates as The Miami Dolphins New Offensive Coordinator

For the time being, Chan Gailey is no longer the offensive coordinator of the Miami Dolphins.

My reaction after hearing the news that Chan Gailey is resigning.

As you can see, I was silent about it and did not let anyone see the joy when I heard the news. Always remember the importance of containing yourself.

Some may find this a bit surprising, as Stone Cold Brian Flores said yesterday all his assistants will return. I really am not. Gailey is 68 years old and with everything related to the pandemic and the fact that he is 68 years old, it seems like he no longer wants to work.

Nothing personal against 4 Chan. He did an admiral job. It’s not easy to get to a team for the first time, not to have a proper training camp or a pre-season, and to build an offense that allows for a rookie full-back. It certainly turned out that he had a different mentality when he called plays, depending on whether it was Fitzpatrick or Tua. I understand why he thought so, but you would think he would notice that it would leave after this year, then you can only empty the kitchen in Tua’s last few games. He did not and that is one of the reasons why the Dolphins finished in 22nd place. Have a nice life, Chan.

Now the Dolphins are looking for a new offensive coordinator. If you think you’ve heard it before, it’s because you have.

Personally, I’m not a big fan of Dark Arts unless we’re talking about Papa Shango, but the fact remains: being the offensive coordinator of Dolphins is like being the drummer for Spinal Tap.

Still, the post needs to be filled. But by whom? Well, it should be a person who can get the best out of the only man in the team who is a starting point next year, Tua Tagovailoa. I’m talking to you Xavien Howard, you were not written in stone.

This is not my ‘take’, and I’m sure you’ve probably heard it from the global leader or one of the programs, but the Dolphins must be looking for some kind of offense in the same world (maybe I did is a dark artist) as Drew Brees. From the skill side, it’s a decent comparison. Short, good arm that is out of this world, accurate, expect good and throw in time. This is Tua. Feel free to add or remove a skill, but these are its features. Deal with it.

The candidate’s list I compiled is not in honor. I thought it was stupid to do a ranking because I really have no idea who is better than the others at coordinating. If you think you know the answer, I’ll tell you not to. I also could not think of a 5th candidate to make it a classic Top 5 list, and I did not want to think of the possibility of Doug Marrone in Miami. Here is the list.

Eric Studesville

Besides having a name that’s very cool to say, Eric Studesville has been around since 2018. That means he was able to survive the Adam Gase regime. If you think about it, the survival is equivalent to the survival of Chernobyl, only with more headaches, if you could believe it. Stud is the coach of the team’s fullback. His biggest job to be the offensive coordinator is to be the husband of Brian Flores talking to him. Here’s what Flores said about his husband,

“Yes, Eric is phenomenal,” Flores said. “I think he’s a phenomenal coach. He is a phenomenal teacher, communicator. He is someone I have leaned on in different situations over the past 18 months since I was here. It was clear he was here before I was here, and we kept him on the staff. Just as far as the ground here in Miami, he was someone I could rely on. I think he’s a good coach. I think he has a coordinator and a future mentor. I think the players are pulling towards him. They listen. He is a very, very good coach. ”

Still, I would be surprised if Flores promotes his captain. I think he’s good where he is. I’m sure the stud would say otherwise, but he suggests me.

George Godsey

Another coach in the staff who has a very cool part of his name. First Stud and now God. This goes without saying, but we all know that the almighty eye cookies are, so you can say that Studesville and Godsey are the same person. Godsey is the coach for the Dolphins, but more importantly, he was Chan Gailey’s switch to the surface, while Chan sits like Sting in the beams. What Godsey is going for him is when quarterback coach Randy Brown was not a very exciting name. He was a few weeks due to Covid. Godsey was the one who became Tua’s right hand man. Godsey did such a beautiful job that Godsey was still on the sidelines in Tua’s ear, even when Brown returned. Something to think about.

Anthony Lynn

Lynn is a man who I think has no ties to Brian Flores. At least I could not find anything. He was just inaugurated as the Charger’s head coach after being 7-9. He will probably still be the head coach there if he knows how to manage a game if that matters. This is not his strong case. Offensive is his strong case. It must be. He’s a former NFL running back. Two years ago, Lynn won 12-4 with the Chargers and won a playoff game. His team was decent, but was never a real threat to do anything. It is said that his offense achieved the 7th best position that year. The smartest thing Lynn did this year was to stab Tyrod Taylor in the lung and push Justin Herbert into the series. I know we do not like to say the J-word about these parts, but he played fantastic. Part of that was the supervision of Anthony Lynn.

Bill O’Brien

I mean, how full of a circle would it be if O’Brien ended up in Miami? After being responsible for the Dolphins having all the Texans’ text in this year’s draft, and thus moving Houston to Chernobyl (these are two references in Chernobyl if you keep the score at home) to finally go to the team , he also swapped all the choices. It’s a double cross we’ve not seen since Mike Tyson knocked out Shawn Michaels.

Let me just say that I would not like to see Bill O’Brien have anything to do with selecting players, signing free agents and ordering a take-out. Nothing like that. I do like him as an attacking coach. I remember what he did at PSU years ago, and it was nothing short of wonderful what he did. My only problem with him is that players will immediately turn against him if he does something he does not like. This may be due to his perception that he is not a coach of a player. You’d think anyone who brought in Flores would get the attention of his players, or else Stone Cold would be stunned.

Nor can you reject Brian Flores’ familiarity with working with O’Brien. These guys once worked in New England.

In the end, there is only one thing I know for sure. It does not matter if someone on this list is ultimately the new coordinator of Miami Dolphin, the chances are 75% that they will be naked.
