Sen. Tom Cotton, R-Ark., Called on Disney on Monday for their decision to beat content warnings about deliveries of ‘The Muppet Show’ on the Disney + service after the company’s previous work in the controversial Xinjiang province in China.
“The Muppet Show,” which aired for the first time in 1976, was released on Disney + Friday, with “offensive content” ahead of select episodes.
“This program contains negative portrayals and / or abuses of people or cultures,” reads the indemnity. “These stereotypes were wrong then and are wrong now. Instead of removing this content, we want to acknowledge its harmful impact, learn from it and foster conversations to create a more inclusive future together.”
On ‘Fox & Friends’, Sen. Cotton’s decision ‘an overall move by Mickey Mouse’ ‘following the company’s controversial choice to film a live-action remake’ Mulan ‘in Xinjiang province in China, where Beijing is accused of human rights violations against the Uighur Muslim people.
“Just last year, they thanked a Chinese Communist Party agency responsible for concentration camps and genocide in Xinjiang province, China, for helping them film a movie,” Cotton said.
“It’s outrageous and horrible.”
Cotton also refers to comments made by Disney CEO Bob Iger in 2019 when he said the survey in the state of Georgia would be ‘very difficult’ due to a controversial abortion bill.
