Tom Brady-Bill Belichick debate seems to be over for some after NFL champion’s NFC win

Who was responsible for the success of the New England Patriots? Was it Tom Brady or Bill Belichick?

That was the underlying demand for the 2020 season after Brady moved into the Patriots’ off-season to sign a two-year deal with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Brady has won six Super Bowl championships in New England, but the debate is raging with many people claiming it was Belichick’s system that made Brady what he was.

After an 11-5 record and an NFC championship, the debate seems to be over for some. It was Brady all along.

The 2020 season did not start well for Brady. The Buccaneers lost 34-23 to the New Orleans Saints, while the Patriots, led by Cam Newton, defeated the Miami Dolphins 21-11. But everything seems to have changed after the first week of the season.

Tampa Bay would win seven of their next eight games, while the Patriots would win only three of their next eight. The Buccaneers remained in contention for the NFC Division for the South Division, losing it only by one game after being swept by the Saints. The Patriots would lose three of their last four to end the season.

Brady would then lead to Tampa Bay to three consecutive victories on the way to getting to the Super Bowl and winning his first NFC championship, drawing the total of Drew Brees and Aaron Rodgers.

Brady and the Buccaneers will have their hands full with the Kansas City Chiefs, but given the debate over whose success it seems, Brady may have the upper hand.
