Todd Howard teased Bethesda’s Indiana Jones game months ago

Todd Howard may have teased Bethesda’s newly announced Indiana Jones game two months ago, and when he spoke to Geoff Keighley last November, it looked like Todd Howard was the Ark and Idol of Indiana Jones & The Raiders of the Lost Ark on his bookshelf propped up behind him (as you can see in the tweet below).

It’s reminiscent of how Phil Spencer recently appeared in interviews with the then-unannounced Xbox Series S sitting behind him. There is little chance that someone would connect those dots, but it still feels like you have been missing a clear clue all along.

It could be coincidence again – in a Bethesda blog, Pete Hines, SVP of Global Marketing, said: ‘Todd is a lifelong Indy fan and has been trying to make this game for over a decade. “He is very excited to work with the award-winning MachineGames team, which is a perfect fit for Indy.” So maybe he just enjoys his Indiana Jones brand?

The Indiana Jones game will be a standalone adventure set at the height of the character’s career and developed by MachineGames (Wolfenstein: The New Order).

It’s the first game to be announced as part of the revived Lucasfilm Games brand, which will collect games from multiple developers under one banner, covering games from the Star Wars galaxy and beyond.
