TNT’s Snowpiercer Renewed for a Third Season

Consider how many problems it was to get Snowpiercer in the first place on TV, it makes sense that TNT wants to keep its processing of the Bong Joon Ho movie as hard as possible. You do not replace a showrunner and a director and then move the range from one network to another just so you can end it early, right? TNT seems to vote, because Variety say the network ordered a third season of the drama. It’s only a week or so before the second season of the show premieres, so it looks like a relatively rare positive sign for Snowpiercer‘s future prospects – like when you’re told that the world is a frozen wilderness, but then you see a polar bear and realize that things can start well again. (This happens in the movie.)

Snowpiercer the show, like Snowpiercer the film is about a train that circles the planet endlessly while carrying the last survivors of mankind in the wake of an icy apocalypse. It plays Daveed Diggs and Jennifer Connelly. Season three will obviously not go into premiere for a while, but the gap between seasons one and two was not particularly long.
