On Wednesday night, Jimmy Kimmel addressed the news that President Trump has been indicted for a second time in the House of Representatives, with a 232-197 vote on his incitement to a violent, inflammatory takeover of the American Capitol.
“Unlike the first, it was a twofold accusation,” Kimmel said during his late monologue. ‘Every democratic [representative], and a handful of Republicans – ten of them in the House – voted to oust Trump in protest of his role in organizing, mobilizing and stirring up the violent attack on them last week. These people attacked them, they tried to get the vice president, they tried to stop our election, and these loopholes were like, ‘This is another political attack on our president!’ ‘
Kimmel, of course, referred to the numerous Republicans who did not vote for accusation, and chose a crooked former former TV host and accused a serial rapist of loving the country. ‘Your president has a big – I mean little – pinch for an army of idiots marching down the street, kicking in doors, killing a police officer and smearing their feces all over your office. And most of these Republicans are like, ‘Well, the office done you need to refresh. The color on the walls is nice! “” The comedian cracked.
But despite their decision, Trump made history. ‘Donald Trump becomes the first US president to be charged twice. I wonder if he’s tired of all the winning? Kimmel joked. “Whatever they have said and done in the past to support him, I want to commend the Republicans in the House who approve of holding Trump accountable. It’s a real act – and it’s how it should be treated. This is not just a political risk. These Trump nuts will come to their house!
‘But the rest of them, it’s always a surprise to see how crazy some of our elected officials are. And it was fully visible today as they supported their sad, orange man. ”
Kimmel then called on mouths of Republican lawmakers to call on everyone from Kathy Griffin and Madonna to Robert De Niro in their unconvincing efforts to distract from the president’s failure to uphold the sworn duties of his office.
