The NFL media world was in turmoil last week when rumors arose from Houston. According to reports, QB Deshaun Watson was dissatisfied with how the management of the Texans handled the GM search. The buzz got even louder when ESPN’s Chris Mortensen reported that Deshaun Watson would consider a trade to the Miami Dolphins. PFN Insider Benjamin Allbright closed Deshaun Watson trade rumors this week PFN Fast oblique.
What PFN hears about Deshaun Watson and Miami
‘I do not think it is likely that he will be moved. All I’m told is they are not going to trade with him. β
Allbright extinguished the flames of Deshaun Watson after Miami’s rumors and went on with information he received from a source.
“The same source told me that they do not trade Deshaun Watson at all. I pushed that person for a hypothetical. Hypothetically, what would it take to move Deshaun Watson into a vacuum? He said it would take three firsts, three seconds, and A Pro Bowl caliber player would start the conversation. The idea that you’re going to get Watson for Tua and a first and something else is therefore ridiculously ridiculous. It does not happen. You get Deshaun Watson no less than it cost Jamal Adams. Deshaun Watson currently needs an absolute load. He’s not even on the block, and he has a clause without trade, so he’ll have to give it up. β
Three first rounds.
Three choices of the second round.
A pro-Bowl player.
Just to even start the conversation for Deshaun Watson. It will probably require an agreement similar to that of Eric Dickerson and Herschel Walker for Watson to wear another jersey.

Why are there rumors about Deshaun Watson coming to Miami?
The news initially surfaced when the Texans hired Nick Caserio as their GM. There are reports that Deshaun Watson was frustrated with the process of the team for two reasons. First, he did not involve Watson as promised. Second, the decision was hijacked by Jack Easterby.
Allbright also discussed this.
‘I was talking to some people down there in Houston while it was all taking off. I will say this. In the first place, the Texans organization claims that they tried to reach out to him [Watson], but he was on vacation or unreachable and he has not returned to them yet … All we hear is one side of the [argument] and I’m trying to give you the other side just so we’re all on the same page. ‘
Another source of frustration was the lack of traction regarding Chiefs OC Eric Bieniemy. Allbright said the players believe Eric Bieniemy is the frontrunner for the Texans’ holiday division.
However, Jack Easterby initially even refused to entertain Bieniemy because the Texans did not ask for an interview for him. On the other hand, with new GM Nick Caserio at the helm, they are interviewing many coaches who have worked with Bieniemy, such as Leslie Frazier. They investigate members of his staff and try to find out more about Bieniemy.
Allbright also refutes a report stating that Eric Bieniemy is not interested in the Texans’ work.
Chopping heads in the Texas building above HC
Allbright discussed what appears to be a growing tension in the building outside of the Deshaun Watson trade rumors about the Texans’ next HC. In discussing rumors about Josh McDaniels as the next Texans HC, Allbright raised the tension.
‘Well, I do not think [hiring Josh McDaniels] is Nick Caserio’s call, but it’s definitely that of Jack Easterby. I do not think [Texans Owner] Cal McNair wants that to happen. You have to think he definitely does not want to be labeled the ‘Patriots South’. I definitely think Caserio will be open to that, because he has a positive relationship with Josh McDaniels, but I do not think that’s the way they are going. β
Easterby wants one thing, McNair wants something else, and Caserio’s kind in the middle. Allbright also now described the Texans locker room as ‘toxic’.
Allbright said the Texans want to put together a potential staff before first talking to Eric Bieniemy. It could be a step to be somewhat sneaky with their coaching positions and fill in staff for Bieniemy before he is appointed.
