TikTok presents an encore performance of the Ratatouille musical

The Ratatouille TikTok musical will return on Sunday night for a leading performance on the platform where it all began. TikTok presents another performance of the musical that kicks off New Year’s Day online, which has raised more than $ 1 million for The Actors Fund.

The musical has come together on TikTok over the past few months, with composers, fans, set designers, customers and choreographers creating music numbers for the fictional “show” built around the 2007 Disney / Pixar animated film. In December, Seaview Productions announced that the program was being produced in collaboration with TikTok. Disney / Pixar gave its blessing, and the show attracted big Broadway names to perform the folk songs.

Wayne Brady plays Django, Andrew Barth Feldman plays Linguini, Ashley Park almost steals the show as Colette, Andre de Shields plays Anton Ego, Adam Lambert is Emile, and Tituss Burgess plays Remy, the rat with a taste for fine cuisine . The 20-piece Broadway Sinfonietta Orchestra provided the score.

The show mostly drew strong reviews from theater critics; the New York Times called it a “silly, multilayered pleasure” and the Los Angeles Times said it shows what the future of musical theater might look like.

The encore will post live on TikTok at 8pm, and viewers can donate to The Actors Fund via a donation sticker in the app, says TikTok.
