Throw secondary stands, the trouble with shutters and more insights on the spring practice of Joel Piñeiro – The Athletic

For the past fifteen years I have worn different hats – a professional baseball player, husband, father, amateur golfer, wine connoisseur, music lover and fantasy sports lover! Boy, do I like to compete, and just like you, I’m looking for any insider advantage I can find.

I became acquainted with fantasy sports in the summer of 2006 while playing for the Seattle Mariners. I remember how we approached, JJ Putz, coming up to me and asking, “Do you want to play fantasy football?” I had no idea what I was doing. Do not get me wrong now, I love sports, love to compete and I really love winning. From the moment the concept started, I was addicted! And it’s not just the competition, but the chatter that keeps going, that makes me pump. Or just being part of a league where your relationships and friendships are a direct cause of fantasy sports.
