iOS 14.5 beta 2
Apple this week unveiled the second developer and public betas of iOS 14.5, watchOS 7.4, tvOS 14.5, macOS Big Sur 11.3 and iPadOS 14.5.
In iOS 14.5 beta 2, the Music app has a host of new features, including the ability to share lyrics, new swing gestures, redesigned pop-up menus, and more. iOS 14.5 beta 2 also includes more than 200 new emojis for iPhone users.

March 16 Apple Event? No.
Over the past week, March 16 has gained traction on social media as a possible date for an Apple event. However, Mark Gurman of Bloomberg tweeted that Apple will not be holding an event on March 16 – and that AirTags will not be announced on that day.
Notably, Gurman’s tweet did not rule out the possibility of an Apple event in March or the announcement in March. Here’s our full summary of everything Apple can announce this spring.
Microsoft all-in-one Office app
If you want to use a Microsoft Office iPad app, you can run the individual Word, Powerpoint, and Excel programs for years. This week, however, Microsoft officially unveiled its new all-in-one Office app for iPad.
This app combines Word, Excel and PowerPoint applications you know in a single iPadOS optimized app. Microsoft also says that it has added additional tools to keep you more productive. Here’s more in our full coverage.
MagSafe battery for iPhone 12
Bloomberg reported this week that Apple is developing a new MagSafe battery pack accessory for the iPhone 12. With previous iPhone models, Apple has released Smart Battery Cases, but this year it is planning this modular MagSafe battery pack instead.
Bloomberg says the accessory will be similar to the design of MagSafe leather wallet accessories, and it will be attached to the back of the iPhone 12 series with MagSafe.
However, Bloomberg says that the accessory is having problems with software development, and that the product could be scrapped altogether.
