Final Fantasy VII will never be out of fashion.
Even if the remaster did not happen! Even if the remaster somehow does not have a proper end due to some freak accident. People will always try to bring back the original classic because it was a formative JRPG for many people. As Chrono Trigger before that it was one of the largest “gateway JRPGs” in history.
This is partly why so many prospective mudslingers are doing it, even now. Take this Satsuki Yatoshi Mod, for example. This mod outfit calls itself the ‘most accurate modern version of the computer version’ and uses deep learning AI techniques to get it really right.
The mod is billed as a “cleaner, more detailed” version than previous “HD mods”, enhancing the game with AI. It’s interesting that they do not want to be ‘too excited’. No: they do not want a ‘sharp or overpowered’ effect, so it feels constant and still true to the original.
