This new camper is an off-road race with a luxurious interior like a Scandinavian hotel

With most luxury campers, you can take the comfort of home with you on the road, but the new Darc Mono also lets you take it off.

The company’s first offering is a custom adventure vehicle based on the Iveco Daily 4 × 4 of 2020. But despite the rugged and aggressive exterior, the elegant Scandinavian interior has everything you need to rest and recover after an exhausting day off-roading.

We’ve seen rough luxury campers before, but no one was as comfortable away from paved roads as the Mono. The inspiration draws from Dakar rally trucks, the ‘ultimate expedition vehicle’, as announced, can handle even the inhospitable landscapes. The source chassis has been upgraded with an adjustable suspension developed with KW motors and rides on milled aluminum wheels wrapped in 37-inch tires. It is also equipped with a specially-manufactured tubular steel bar and an 11-ton winch and carbon fiber intake snorkel. These adjustments make the vehicle as adept at conquering sand dunes as it does on the highway.

Equally impressive is the Mono’s front rear cabin. The 161-inch monocoque is manufactured using the same techniques as used on Formula 1 racing engines, and is made from recycled carbon fiber for maximum structural strength. It weighs 35 percent less than other comparable cabins and offers advanced temperature and sound insulation. The cabin also has an 82-inch skylight, as well as large panoramic windows that offer 270 degrees of your surroundings.

Inside the cabin you will find a spacious and airy living space. With a headroom of 6 feet and a minimalist design, it actually looks more spacious than many luxury campers. It is also well equipped with a kitchenette with a three-pitched stove, basin and a 90 liter fridge. There is a spacious dining room with seating for five, a bathroom and plenty of integrated storage space. The dining room switches on with the push of a button in a sleeping area for two (the bed is stored against the ceiling during the day). There is also an office area and an entertainment package with a mobile ViewSonic M2 projector and a custom sound system.
