Like it or beat it, we’ll be wearing masks for a long time. Technology and equipment for the coronavirus era popping up everywhere CES 2021, an all-digital version of the annual technology fair, and it contains products aimed at reducing the friction of wearing a mask.

One handy example is Binatone’s MaskFone. It’s a washable, $ 50 N95 mask (£ 50, AU $ 65) with a Bluetooth headset inside, allowing you to talk to people over the phone without a mask-muffled voice.

The earbuds are attached to a cable cord that hangs around your ears, and there are buttons to play, pause, and control the volume on the mask itself. The mask also has Siri and Amazon integration, so you can play music with voice controls.

Binatone says the Bluetooth headset will last 12 hours. If so, that means you need to upload your mask.

It is one of the many devices on display at CES and adapted for COVID-19 life. LG has unveiled its range of air purifiers, which includes a mask with batteries with a cleanser inside, as well as a portable Puriview Mini purifier that you can take on the go – if you like something like that. Existing products have also been updated, including LG’s new InstaView fridge, which opens with voice command and disinfects water with a UV ray.
