
The Boston Celtics may surprise everyone during the NBA trade deadline and be one of the biggest buyers. After the Celtics enter the season with championship aspirations, they start slowly, but they are led by their stars. The Orlando Magic may contain pieces that intrigue Boston.
Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum both averaged 26 points per game. Outside of the dynamic duo, the Celtics have a depth all over the floor. They entered the offseason with a decrease in need, but made little move to improve the front row.
Tristan Thompson was their free agent signing. Thompson and Daniel Theis were overwhelming to start the season. Boston will welcome help wherever they can find it.
The Magic are a team that can help. They have two direct post-season appearances, but were very few. This affected their ability to advance in the playoffs. Markelle Fultz started showing signs late but will miss the rest of the year with a torn ACL.
The Magic have a strong core starting with Nikola Vucevic. He’s a versatile man on both sides of the floor, and the Magic may seem to build him up. It might get rid of their other big names. At some point, Orlando will have to decide which direction they want to take.
