These school districts in the San Antonio area were closed on Friday due to winter weather

SAN ANTONIO Due to the predicted winter conditions in San Antonio and surrounding areas, several school districts are announcing the closure for Friday. On Thursday, the area had already seen a lot of rain and ice due to the cooler temperatures.

KSAT meteorologists also forecast temperatures below freezing and a probability of winter rainfall, starting late Sunday and early Monday.

Below are the schools that closed on Friday:

“Bandera ISD monitored the weather conditions in the area. Given the forecast and in the best interest of the safety of students and staff, the school will be canceled for Friday 12 February 2021. ”

“Due to inclement weather and the threat of icy road conditions, the classes at Blanco ISD have been canceled for Friday 12 February 2021.”

“Due to bad weather and unpredictable icy road conditions, there is no school for own or home students on Friday 12 February. School will resume on Wednesday 17 February for students.”

“Out of an abundance of caution for our students, staff and community, Friday 12 February will be a bad weather day for KISD. Monday 15 February is still a student holiday. This is a staff development day and staff will report to their campus on Monday. We see students on Tuesday 16 February at the usual time. ”

“Due to the continuous rainfall and the temperature around the freezing point, Leakey ISD will start two hours late for Friday, 2/12/2021. Buses will also run two hours later than usual. ”
