Two other states plan to increase their minimum wage by 2021. Delaware will rise from $ 9.25 to $ 10.25 from Oct. 1, according to Senate Bill no. 170. This wage increase has been slowly increasing the minimum wage since 2014 and will conclude the last step. In October.
Nevada is also expected to raise its minimum wage from $ 8.75 to $ 9.75 on July 1.
Michigan is also expected to raise its minimum wage in 2021, but was unable to do so due to a high unemployment rate. The state’s improved labor force, introduced in 2018, will stop all planned minimum wage increases if the state’s annual unemployment rate falls above 8.5 percent. In the third quarter of 2020, the unemployment rate was 8.6 percent, the state reported.
The federal minimum wage has not changed in 2021 and it is not expected to change. It has been $ 7.25 since 2009.
Even if your state is not included in the 2021 minimum wage increases, the US government’s stimulus control is on its way. Americans will receive $ 600 per individual within the next few weeks after President Donald Trump signed the COVID relief package on Sunday.
Individuals who earned $ 75,000 or less, based on their most recent tax filing, are eligible for the full $ 600 amount. Couples who earned less than $ 150,000 as a household are eligible for $ 1200 and possibly $ 600 per child.
Trump originally stopped paying $ 600 in hopes of increasing the amount to $ 2,000 per individual. Senators tried to vote this week to pass the stimulus increase, but Senate leader Mitch McConnell blocked the vote.
