Xbox Game Pass has already received a major upgrade this year with EA Play being added to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscriptions in addition to all the games that are added regularly, and as a new rumor plays out as people hope it will be there might be another entry to look forward to next year. The new rumor about the Xbox Game Pass plans for 2021 suggests that the Ubisoft + service, which gives people instant access to more than 100 Ubisoft games at a fixed rate, will probably also be added to the Xbox Game Pass by the Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscriptions were like EA Play.
Rumors about the Xbox Game Pass getting Ubisoft + subscriptions are spreading online this week with many acknowledging the Xbox Worlds website as a source. Although the rumor has been entertaining in forums and other discussions, Xbox Worlds has included it in a list of the biggest supposed Xbox rumors that currently exist.
This alone is not much to reinforce the rumor, as theories like these often float around in discussion boards and forums, but others have weighed in to make the rumor seem more likely now. Jez Corden, Windows Central, who has a good track record with Windows and Xbox-focused news, said he believes there is a ‘strong chance’ that the rumors will be accurate based on what he heard.

I imagine it would be a safe or a smaller piece of older games, but crazy things happened. I always thought EA Play would be an extra level of Game Pass, but they just turned that bad boy inside. I think we see.

The point about Ubisoft + possibly adding a smaller variety of games to Xbox Game Pass, as opposed to the whole vault, is one that is suggested along with the original rumor online. Considering how many games Ubisoft offers through the service and how it gets new Ubisoft releases at launch, just as Xbox Game Pass does with first party games, many Xbox owners will be much less likely to day to purchase new Ubisoft releases. However, EA Play works similarly to both services and has been included in Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscriptions without reservation, so there is always the chance that the same could happen with Ubisoft + next year.
