There are rumors that iPhone 13 will contain ‘Thinner’ Notch ‘, and that the overall design should remain unchanged

Apple is expected to continue offering four iPhone options in 2021, with the iPhone 13 identical to the iPhone 12 with few changes, according to a new report from the Japanese website. Mac Otakara which cites sources in the Chinese supply chain.

The height and width of the four ‌iPhone‌ models are expected to remain the same, but the thickness may increase by about 0.26 mm.

It is expected that the rear camera unit on all the ‌iPhone 13‌ models will increase by 0.9 mm, and Apple will switch to a design that ‘covers the entire camera unit with sapphire glass’. The lenses are expected to protrude less in a design more similar to the iPad Pro 2020, which has a thick chamber thrust but less protrusion when it comes to lens design.

Mac Otakara believes that the ‌iPhone 13‌ Pro can include optical image stabilization through sensor shifting, a feature that Apple has included in the iPhone 12 Pro Max.

As for the front of the ‌iPhone 13‌, the website indicates that the TrueDepth camera is ‘getting narrower’ because the receiver will move to the edge of the case at the top of the screen. This suggests that the notch on the next generation ‌iPhone‌ may be slightly thinner.

This is the second time we have heard rumors of a thinner or shallower notch, so it is possible that the 2021 ‌iPhone‌ models have a notch of the same length, but not as long.

Other rumors about iPhone 13 have suggested that some models may see LTPO OLED screens with support for 120Hz refresh dates, and there will of course be a faster A15 chip. We have more about what we can expect from the ‌iPhone 13‌ in our dedicated summary.
