There are rumors that Elden Ring is finished with the initial development and is very similar to Dark Souls

December 28, 2020 10:39 by NewsDesk

Elden Ring is the game that almost everyone wants to hear more about, but no one knows what’s going on with it. After developer FromSoftware and publisher Bandai Namco first appeared at E3 2019 last year, nothing has been said about the new title. Fortunately, if a new rumor is true, it sounds like we may soon learn more.

According to a recent conversation between an Italian streamer (WesaTwitch) and one Federico Fossetti, Elden Ring’s the initial development is largely complete. Fossetti, who is a journalist for an Italian game publication, says FromSoftware is currently in the polishing phase of production with Elden Ring and that the game had already been released based on the company’s original timeline. Due to what happened in the course of 2020 in connection with the COVID-19 pandemic, internal launch dates have finally changed.

Rumor has it that the nature of Elden Ring is very similar to that of the Dark souls series. Although all FromSoftware titles share a bit of the same DNA, this rumor suggests Elden Ring is incredibly similar to Dark souls. While Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice maybe a little departure to the iconic studio compared to the previous games, Elden Ring will apparently return much more closely to the formula that made FromSoftware so beloved.

Considering everything, considering the nature of this rumor, of course with a grain of salt. That said, the expression is actually consistent with some other rumors we have heard in recent months. Earlier in December, another rumor said that Elden Ring is on track to launch within the first half of 2021. While this has not been confirmed, it seems to be in line with what Fossetti is proposing.

Assuming these rumors are true, it means we need to start hearing and seeing a lot more Elden Ring in the coming weeks and months. For now, however, we only know for sure that the game will launch on an indefinite date for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC. If there are major developments with Elden Ring in the future, however, we’ll let you know here on ComicBook.com.
