There are 7 more deaths in coronavirus death as Albany County takes note of previously unreported cases

Albany County continued its worrying number of deaths from coronavirus in January, with the addition of seven more deaths recorded on Saturday, said provincial CEO Dan McCoy. But the seven deaths did not occur overnight, McCoy said.

“There was a delay of four deaths, and we learned that the other three people died in mid-December,” McCoy said in a statement. “I’re investigating why the deaths were just reported in December and that they all live in congregations.”

The problem with the province’s death reports follows a number of incidents involving municipal institutions. The first time in St. Joseph van Carondelet took place in Latham when nine nuns died in just over a month in December, but five of the deaths were according to health commissioner dr. Elizabeth Whalen did not immediately report to the Albany Department of Health. . The second happened on January 6 when McCoy expressed frustration over the fact that the province then only discovered about four deaths that occurred between December 12 and January 3 in a nursing home.

‘You would hope after ten months that we’ll beat the system. You would think that we would report the old age homes to us, ‘McCoy said at the January 6 briefing.
