The world’s newest carmaker is finally a deal

It’s finally more than a year after Fiat Chrysler and PSA Groups announced plans for a 50-50 merger. The carmakers released a press release over the weekend announcing the creation of Stellantis, and it is now the world’s fourth largest carmaker. “The merger between Peugeot SA and Fiat Chrysler Automobiles NV that will pave the way for the establishment of Stellantis NV took effect today,” the two carmakers said in a statement.

FCA brands, including Jeep, Ram, Dodge, Fiat and Chrysler, all fall under the same umbrella as Peugeot, Citroen and Opel. In total, Stellantis consists of 14 brands, although Chrysler’s future remains uncertain. Ordinary shares of Stellantis start on Monday on Euronext in Paris and on the Mercato Telematico Azionario in Milan, Italy, and on Tuesday on the New York Stock Exchange. FCA is officially no more.
