The woman who took ‘Covid-19 scam’ has been banned from all hospitals

A woman who was fined for filming apparently empty corridors in an attempt to prove Covid-19 is a hoax has now been banned from visiting hospitals.

Hannah Dean claimed she was a “registered journalist” and posted pictures of hospitals, including Southampton General, on Facebook.

But the claims were branded as untrue and disrespectful amid the ongoing pandemic.

The city’s hospital trust has stressed that photos of empty corridors do not mean wards and intensive care units are empty.

Dean, of Fareham, was warned by police on Sunday not to visit any hospital unless she has an appointment in advance, is dependent on whether there is a medical emergency.

She was also told not to encourage, endorse or encourage another person to violate Covid-19 restrictions.

But the 30-year-old man showed up at St Richard’s Hospital in Chichester the same day when he issued the Community Protection Warning (CPW), Sussex police said.

A community protection notice (CPN) was issued by Hampshire Constabulary on Monday.

According to the notice, Dean may not visit a hospital site unless there is a legal reason or prior appointment.

Violation of a CPN is an offense and may result in her being brought before a court and charged.

Chief Inspector Jon Carter said: ‘There are different ways to deal with this kind of unacceptable behavior. We work with Hampshire Constabulary to ensure that the best ways are used to prevent this behavior from continuing. ”

Police earlier said Dean’s allegations about hospitals caused ‘anxiety in the community’.

As reported, a Southampton General Hospital spokesman condemned the posts.

They said: ‘The hospital has been made aware of a message circulating on social media claiming that the hospital is not under pressure.

“It can not be further from the truth.

“Sharing this kind of misinformation is causing incredible dismay and dismay for our staff who work tirelessly to care for those who are admitted in large numbers every day.”

In addition to Southampton, Dean also took courses at Queen Alexandra Hospital in Portsmouth, Princess Royal University Hospital near Bromley, Kent, and St Richard’s Hospital in Chichester, West Sussex.

In addition to photos taken at Portsmouth Hospital, she wrote: ‘The hospital is the quietest I’ve ever seen! I walked all over the hospital, including A&E!

‘I know it’s hard to get head over heels, but the government is lying to us! And the reason they lie to us … is very disturbing! ”
