The woman dies after the car is in the air, crashes into the Pembroke Park shopping center

PEMBROKE PARK, Fla. A devastating accident in Pembroke Park overnight left one person dead.

It happened along Hallandale Beach Boulevard between 40th and 48th Avenues.

Witnesses told Local 10 News that a car was traveling east on Hallandale Beach Boulevard when it lost control and collided with a shopping mall.

Authorities said the driver of the car that lost control was a woman and that she was put out of her vehicle. She was pronounced dead at the scene by first responders.

At least six parked vehicles were damaged in the single car accident. One of those vehicles was pushed through the front door of Thirsty’s bar.

Employees of Thirsty’s said of the camera that they were closed and were cleaning when the accident occurred.

Broward Sheriff’s Office units blocked part of the driveway for much of Sunday morning.

An investigation continues into the cause of the accident.
