The woman buys the iPhone 12 Pro Max and gets yogurt with apple flavor instead

A woman in China was disappointed when she opened a package to find out that her new iPhone 12 Pro Max had been swapped with a yogurt drink with apple flavor.

In a video uploaded to Weibo on Friday, the woman named Liu explained that she had spent more than $ 1,500 buying a new iPhone on Apple’s official website. When she later opened the package, someone rather switched the contents with a food item.

Liu did not receive the parcel directly from her courier, but rather from a parcel safe in her living community.

Local police viewed the exchange as a case of theft, but no one knows for sure where the switch took place. Both Apple and Express Mail Service – the company that delivered Liu’s package – are currently launching an investigation.

An EMS customer service staff said Global Times Friday that the incident is still being investigated. “We hired colleagues to handle it specially,” she said. According to Global Times, Apple gave a similar answer, saying the investigation is still ongoing.

Users on Weibo talked about who may have committed the theft, with accusations leveled at the courier company, Apple warehouse workers, or even suggested that Liu might have bought from a copy site that Apple had imitated.

Apple products, and especially high-value iPhones, are often subject to such theft, but usually not from individuals. Recently, five men were caught on security footage stealing $ 12,000 worth of Apple products in early December, which were apparently display items.
