Evil, the middle finger, sexual content, Prince’s guitar and, yes, the wardrobe function had a worldwide audience.
The Super Bowl halftime show is no stranger to big and small controversies regarding the content of the show. This year’s headline, The Weeknd, promised on Thursday that the Super Bowl LV show will be family-friendly.
Via USA Today:
“I definitely want to respect the spectators at home,” he said. ‘I’ll still use some of the storyline. This is a very coherent story I told during this era and during this year.
“The story will continue, but we will definitely keep it PG for the families.”
The Weeknd has in the past not been absent of more adult content in the past, especially its bloodied appearance in the “Blinding Lights” music video and in leaving itself in various public appearances in bandages, which he said was a statement about the superficial culture and plastic surgery in Hollywood.
While the multi-platinum artist said he would keep things PG, he did suggest that the show may contain a certain pirate ship in the final zone of Raymond James Stadium:
‘That ship is so iconic. We take it in a bit, but I do not want to say much more. ‘
Since The Weeknd allegedly spent $ 7 million of its own money to ensure a good show, it should all contribute to a show that is at least interesting.
