The Weeknd debuts in face changes for ‘Save Your Tears’ music video

The Weeknd has a drastically different look.

On Tuesday, the 30-year-old musician dropped a music video for the song “Save Your Tears” from his award-winning album “After Hours”.

In the video, the singer – born Abel Makkonen Tesfaye – can be seen with drastic facial changes that make him almost unrecognizable.

Viewers will notice The Weeknd’s cheekbones, jaw and lips and make his nose crooked, while scars can also be seen on his cheeks and sides.

While it may seem convincing, the changes are simply prosthetics, applied by Mike Marino of Prosthetic Renaissance, who explained on Instagram that it is merely ‘strange plastic surgery.’

“You could have asked me why I broke your heart / you could have told me you fell apart,” sings The Weeknd. “But you walked past me like I was not there / And just pretended not to care.”

In the choir he pleads for reconciliation.

“I do not know why I run away / I will make you cry when I run away / take me back because I want to stay / save your tears for another / save your tears for another day / save your tears for another day. “

The Weeknd also donned a glittering red jacket from Michael Jackson for the video as he danced around in a dark, ghostly ballroom around a masquerade theme.

At one point in the video, The Weeknd hides a revolver behind his back and the lights flicker out. When the lights are on again, a woman holds the gun to the musician’s head.

He apparently survives the ordeal, as he next time sees in the room dancing and imitating people to shoot people with the gun.
