The state of Ohio achieves narrow victory over Penn State. Three takeaways.

The Big Ten struck again.

The state of Ohio caught fire on Wednesday night, putting Penn State on its heels and rising by as many as eleven points in the first half. However, towards the end of the second half, the Nittany Lions’ attitude changed, their energy and goal increased, and things started to turn around.

The Buckeyes could never completely resolve the pressure on the ball that Penn State showed, and it led to a narrow 83-79 escape on the heels of a big win on the road against a top ten Wisconsin team . A victory is a victory, a victory, but it was a battle tonight.

Yet it is probably the deepest and most talented conference in the country, and if you do not come to play, any team in the league can make you pay. It almost happened Wednesday night, and you can be sure that head coach Chris Holtmann would rather give lessons in victory than after a defeat.

As after every game, here are three take-aways we observed from all the actions.
