A trio of state mega-sites for COVID-19 vaccines will be closed Sunday because New Jersey is supporting its second snowstorm this week.
Government Phil Murphy announced on social media on Saturday night that mega-vaccination sites in Burlington, Middlesex and Morris counties will be closed on Sunday.
A large portion of New Jersey is under warning for the National Weather Service’s winter storm, as a storm is expected to bring up to 8 inches of snow to the I-95 corridor Sunday, and lower, but still significant snow totals to other parts of the state. .
The appointments at Middlesex Province, which is at the New Jersey Convention and Exposition Center in Edison, are being moved to Saturday, February 13th.
In Morris County, appointments for the mega-site at Rockaway Townsquare are being moved to Wednesday, February 10th.
And in Burlington County, appointments for the mega-premises at Moorestown Mall are being moved to Monday, February 8th; Tuesday, February 9; and 10 February.
The other three state mechanical sites, in Atlantic County, Bergen County and Gloucester County, will remain open despite the storm.
According to the governor, people who need to recreate their appointments will be contacted by individual healthcare providers. Anyone with questions about the mega-sites and vaccinations in general is encouraged to call the state vaccination center, 855-568-0545.
This is not the first time that snow has forced the state to shut down mega-vaccination sites. All six locations were forced to close Monday by the northeast, which left more than 30 inches of snow on the ground in parts of New Jersey.
