Windows Insider members found a problem with the latest Microsoft Windows 10 Feature Pack, one that affects part of the screen-cutter.

‘We are currently removing the ability to copy and paste a screenshot directly into a folder in File Explorer, due to a problem that was discovered due to feedback from Windows Insiders. We hope to re-enable this capability in a future update after addressing this issue. ” Microsoft said in a blog post.

Typically, Windows 10 users have the ability to copy and paste screenshots directly into a folder on their computer or into another application such as Slack. But Microsoft does not know what is causing the problem, and the company has disabled the feature only for Windows Insider users. Windows 10 users who are not enrolled in the program, or Insiders who have not yet applied the latest feature pack, will not be affected.

The Snipping Tool, and the newer Snip and Sketch, are a big part of Windows 10. It is more efficient to take screenshots and easy for users to navigate. Instead of using the Print Screen key on the keyboard and editing / saving screenshots in a photo editing program, everything is built into the tool. Microsoft will probably find out and fix what is wrong with this part of the latest Windows Insider build before launching the updates to regular users.

Microsoft has also made some minor changes to the copy-paste feature in Windows 10 as a whole in recent months. The clipboard, for example, only stored text entries, but now also stores images and HTML content, such as gifs and emojis. There is also a complete GIF section that shows users of GIFs on the internet, and users can also access their clipboard (Windows key + V) on multiple devices through the Sync across devices function under settings.
