The Sims 4 already regularly receives new content via expansions, Game Packs and Stuff Packs, but now EA Maxis also sells Kits. Kits are smaller affordable packages that add new features or items to the long-lasting life simulation game, and there are three available from today.
They add a 90-year-old kitchen cupboard and country kitchen and dust, respectively, and each will give you back $ 5 / £ 5 / € 5. There is a trailer below.
It is always dangerous to refer to a game’s ‘community’ as if the players of a game are a monolithic group. The Sims 4 is a strong example. The series has a reputation among some for nickel-and-dizzying players with dozens of paid expansions, and if it’s you, Kits will not change its mind. The comments below the video above show how some people feel, and I suspect there will be similar comments under this post soon.
However, look elsewhere, and there are many Sims 4 players who are excited about different things offered in these packages. I? I play The Sims almost completely interrupted, solely to build fantastic homes, and so a set of shabby, kitchen furniture is pretty captivating. I’ve seen others, those who want to play the games, talk about how cute the little dust bunnies are. Because the “dust” kit doesn’t just add inert heaps of dust, see.
One comment I’ve seen a lot and that seems fair is that these kits are bigger news for console gamers than for people on a computer, because the dust bunnies are aside, computer gamers can access similar small and focused sets made by the community was created. For example, our choice of the best Sims 4 CC contains a lot of kitchen utensils, and it’s all free.
The Sims 4’s Country Kitchen Kit, Bust The Dust Kit and Throwback Fit Kit are now all available via Origin and Steam for $ 5 / £ 5 / € 5. Future packages will be released one by one. You can also see more of these kits in this archive developer Twitch stream from an hour ago.
