The Shanaplan: Kyle Shanahan and John Lynch are already recruiting coaches

It’s no secret that the 49ers will lose at least one coach this season, and possibly more than that. Who they get to replace the coaches will be a critical factor in whether they will be successful with a roster that will look very different in 2021. Fortunately for the team and its fans, the process has already begun.

Take a look at what John Lynch and Kyle Shanahan said during their last press conference of the 2020 season earlier this week.

Here is John Lynch:

When you see land and the beauty of this place and drive in, it’s a rainy morning, but it was a beautiful morning. All the opportunities except to play for the San Francisco 49ers and walk through the Lombardi trophies every day as you walk inside the building. I love sharing stories with people about the Harris Barton’s of the world who have lived in this area and translated into a huge business success because of the contact they have made in this area with so much going on that the focal point for the world in terms of technology and all that. There is a wonderful opportunity. Some people, it means a lot to.

And Kyle Shanahan:

People like the Niners here. Even before last year. This is a cool place to live. I’ve been to different places that are not always like that, and it’s not like they’re just crazy, they have nothing else to do. No, they have a lot going on here, but they are very genuine and treat us very well. It makes me and my family and our players really enjoy living out here.

As Kyle Posey and Akash Anavarathan noted in today’s Shanaplan Podcast, none of this was coincidental.

“The 49ers’ buyer, Kyle and John, they are not stupid,” said Akash, “they know they are going to lose some coaches … and they have to fill the positions. So they now have to convince someone else from another team to possibly join the 49ers and leave their current situation, so they have to sell the Bay. I thought it was an excellent selling point, and they are starting it now, which was intelligent. ”

While the sales pitches are not the only reason anyone wants to join the 49ers, the fact that the general manager and the head coach are aware enough to play the game is a good sign. It shows that they are smart enough to see the big picture and try to use every possible method to bring the most talented people to the coaching staff.

Let’s hope it bears fruit.
