The second open beta test of Guilty Gear Strive has been confirmed and the changes in the lobby have been outlined

The new developer’s backyard gives some insight into the previous beta

A second open beta test for Guilty Gear Strive after the game’s delay last month, and it now looks like we finally have the confirmation of the existence of the next iteration.

Arc System Works has released the Developer’s Backyard 4 for Strive which is more diving into the future beta, as well as what changes they plan to implement for the game’s poorly received lobbying system.

“We are planning a second Open Beta test based on player feedback,” reads the bottom part of the developer post. “The timing has yet to be determined, so keep an eye out for future updates.”

Given the new release date of Strive on June 11, the latest ArcSys will likely hold this bonus opportunity to get their hands on the game again, and therefore a date should fall at any time.

The developers say they want to run the beta once the proposed changes to the lobby are complete.

Strive’s online lobbying system was by far the lowest rated mode in the post-beta survey, with more than 50 percent of respondents considering it bad or bad.

To address the issues in the latest beta, ArcSys says it will implement the following changes to the updated portals:

• To switch to a system where players select a visible area where they want a match

• After winning a match, the player remains in a battle-ready state, unless the attack changes

• Add a second chance option

• To expand the area in each foyer, add an option to hide the news display, and add a dash for avatars.

These tweaks are likely to make the Strive front portals function in the same way as the developer’s previous titles, although it sounds like it’s staying clear on the multi-level 2D stages.

This has not been confirmed in the post here, but the release chart for Guilty Gear Strive shows that the second beta will again only be available to PlayStation owners with digital pre-orders giving one day early access.
