update: New information has come to light about the mysterious Star Trek movie Paramount announced today. Check out the update at the bottom of the post.
Strap in, movie lovers: Paramount has just made some major changes to the release dates of movies like Top Gun: Maverick, both Impossible mission sequels, Slang: GI Joe Origins, and many more. The studio has also officially released a new version Star Trek film on its calendar, and Universal has the release date of The eternal purification until even earlier in July. Read on for a clear explanation of what comes out when.
It turns out today to be ‘Shuffle Our Release Calendar Friday’ for Paramount, who have decided to change things significantly for a number of titles that are highly anticipated. Here’s the new series in order, starting with the only change today (so far) from Universal / Blumhouse:
- The eternal purification – July 2, 2021 (formerly July 9, 2021)
- Slang: GI Joe Origins – July 23, 2021 (previously 22 October 2021)
- Jackass 4 – October 22, 2021 (formerly 3 September 2021)
- Top Gun: Maverick – November 19, 2021 (formerly July 2, 2021)
- Mission: Impossible 7 – May 27, 2022 (formerly 19 November 2021)
- Untitled Bee Gees movie – November 4, 2022
- Dungeons & Dragons – March 3, 2023 (formerly 27 May 2022)
- Unnamed Star Trek film – June 9, 2023
- Mission: Impossible 8 – July 7, 2023 (previously 4 November 2022)
- The shrinkage of tree horn – November 10, 2023
- Untitled Ryan Reynolds / John Krasinski Film – November 17, 2023
I know what you’re probably thinking: ‘Wait a minute, there’s going to be a movie by Jackie Treehorn in a few years? I did not know that a Lebowski Cinematic Universe was going on! I’m sorry to tell you The shrinkage of tree horn is actually an animated film that has nothing to do with the rich pornographic character of the Coen Brothers. Instead, the film is based on a children’s book from 1971, and last we heard in 2019, Ron Howard was committed to making his debut with animated directories.
And after they got excited shortly afterwards that Ryan Reynolds and John Krasinski might be working together for a third Quiet place I remembered that they were actually united for a movie Imaginary friends, which we wrote a few years ago. The comedy, written and directed by Krasinski, follows a man who can see and talk about people’s imaginary friends, and things take a turn when some of the imaginary friends who have lost their real friends begin to turn to the dark side. . Krasinski also plans to play along.
Except that we are selfishly disappointed that it will take longer until we see the new Bobaas and Impossible mission my other big reaction to this news is to be curious about one of these titles.
Paramount talked about making a new one Star Trek movie long … but which one is now dated for 2023? Is this the Quentin Tarantino Trek? The Noah Hawley Trek? Or, probably, the one written by Discovery does Kalinda Vazquez write? I look forward to learning more details about it soon.
update: io9 reports that ” a source close to the project ” has revealed that ‘this is not the Vazquez script. However, this is a separate JJ Abrams producer Pull film, but all the details out there remain top secret. The plot is getting thicker!
