The poll shows Biden with 50 percent approval in sharp biased lines

Biden is optimistic in the US with a ‘very different circumstance’ with Christmas pandemic. His job performance nearly a month into his presidency, though Democrats and Republicans are sharply divided in their perceptions, according to a new poll by Quinnipiac University released Wednesday.

The survey, which surveyed more than 1,000 U.S. adults from Feb. 11 to 14, found that Biden generally has a positive ranking of 50 percent, compared to 38 percent who do not approve.

Biden’s approval rating remains relatively unchanged from Quinnipiac’s first poll on his presidency released earlier this month, which showed that about 49 percent of Americans approve of his job performance, compared to 36 percent who had a negative perception of the new government.

In Wednesday’s poll, with a margin of error of 3 percentage points, it was found that Democrats support Biden’s performance, 91 to 2 percent, overwhelmingly, while Republicans disapprove of 82 to 11 percent.

Among respondents registered as voters, the approval of Biden was 52 to 38 percent, which Quinnipiac noted is almost the opposite of former President TrumpDonald TrumpBiden: ‘I’m tired of talking about Trump’ Hacker claims he stole files from a law firm linked to Trump: WSJ Texas governor gets criticism over handling winter storm MOREat the same point in 2017, when the Republican obtained a negative postal approval rating of 38 to 55 percent.

Quinnipiac University voice analyst Tim Malloy said in a press release on the poll’s findings that Biden’s approval ratings were “solid but not particularly brilliant”.

Malloy added, however, that “there may be some consolation in knowing that his predecessor spent four years in office without getting very close to 50 percent.”

Regarding the coronavirus pandemic, 58 percent of respondents said they approve of Biden’s efforts to combat the virus, with 48 percent approving of the US economy, which has suffered for months because businesses was forced to shut down and dismiss workers during the pandemic.

Quinnipiac started the poll the same day as Biden announced that the US has received another 200 million doses of the coronavirus vaccine, adding that the country should have enough doses of Moderna and Pfizer-BioNTech to vaccinate every American by the end of July.

The administration is also in ongoing negotiations with Congress on the president’s proposed $ 1.9 billion relief package. Democratic leaders in Congress indicated that they are willing to accept the bill, called the U.S. bailout plan, with or without Republican votes in the coming weeks.

However, Americans are mixed when it comes to the government’s plans to reopen schools amid the pandemic, with 42 percent approving and 38 percent indicating disapproval of Biden’s response.
