The opening day of Trump’s indictment leaves the former president furious: sources

Trump is ‘angry’ over accusation show: sources
Former President Trump was “furious” and “angry” about his defense team’s performance on the first day of his second indictment despite the fact that his eventual acquittal was virtually certain, two sources told Fox News late Tuesday.

The sources, who have spent time with Trump, said he was particularly upset about the attempt so far by his attorney Bruce Castor. Trump believes Castor made a shaky starting argument, they said. Castor’s 45-minute opening speech was widely publicized on social media after praising the House executives for accusations for a job well done.

“The American people just talked and they just changed administration,” Castor said at one point. He said the public was smart enough to “choose a new administration if they did not like the old one, and just did it.”

Trump watched the proceedings from his neighborhood in Mar-a-Lago in Palm Beach, Fla. The AP, citing an unnamed source, said Trump was impressed with Democrats’ opening video presentation. CLICK HERE FOR MORE ABOUT OUR TOP STORY.

Biden AG selects Merrick Garland to stand in Senate panel hearings next week
Confirmation hearings are scheduled for Feb. 22 and 23 for Merrick Garland, President Biden’s nominee as U.S. Attorney General.

Garland will appear before the Senate Judiciary Committee in the hope that he will confirm the cabinet position, which is the leadership position of the U.S. Department of Justice.

The schedule makes a confirmation of the vote on Garland’s nomination likely for March 1, reports Politico, noting that legal committee chairman Dick Durbin, D-Ill., And rank-and-file Chuck Grassley, R-Iowa, agreed has to the schedule.

In January, a Grassley spokesman told Fox News that Garland’s trial would include questions about the current federal investigation into Hunter Biden, the president’s son, who confirmed that his “tax affairs” are being investigated by the government. CLICK HERE FOR MORE.

Bids maneuvered by Germany’s Merkel, says Trump’s former chief of staff
President Biden’s government has been maneuvered by German Chancellor Angela Merkel on critical security fronts, Richard Grenell, the former acting director of national intelligence for the Trump administration, told Fox News.

“You have to give it to Chancellor Merkel: she outwitted Joe Biden in just three weeks. Merkel has made it clear that she does not want to side with communist China and capitalist America, and the withdrawal of the 10,000 American troops that “Trump announced earlier, reversed and got the Biden administration to stop enforcing Nord Stream 2 sanctions,” Grenell said.

Last week, Biden froze the plan to withdraw US troops from Germany. In December, Congress passed legislation – the National Defense Authorization Act – that includes sanctions targeting companies and individuals involved in the Nord Stream 2 project.

The Nord Stream 2 agreement with Russian President Vladimir Putin’s regime will transfer Russian gas to Germany via a pipeline running under the Baltic Sea. Critics say the project will ensure that Germany becomes dependent on Russia’s energy needs – a major opponent of the US and Europe. CLICK HERE FOR MORE.

PARTY SUBJECTS

Donald Trump Jr. said Tuesday night “if it were not for double standards, the Democrats would not have had standards at all.” The son of former President Donald Trump shared his view on Fox News’ ‘Hannity’ after the first day of the Senate indictment on Capitol Hill.

“During your monologue,” Trump Jr. said. told host Sean Hannity, ‘you have emphasized all the hypocrisy we have seen during 10 months of rioting, looting, arson. The truth is the kind of in-your-face politics, whatever my father said about Jan. 6, was soft in comparison. But if you were to take his speech and compare it to any stupid speech ever made in the history of politics, you would see absolutely no deviation. “
