The open beta test of Guilty Gear Strive will be launched on February 18, but will be available early for those who pre-ordered the game

Arc System Works prepares (guilty) for another beta test for Guilty Gear Strive. On February 18, the masses can try their hand at the game and various modes before launching on April 9th.

The company announced details of the upcoming test this morning and shared the details of what all players will have access to with the beta and when it will launch live. Those who pre-order the digital version of the game on PlayStation 4 or PlayStation 5 get the chance to play the beta a day earlier than anyone else.

“The #GuiltyGearStrive Open Beta test is available on # PS4 & # PS5 from 19:00 PST on 2/18 to 06:59 PST on 2/21,” said Arc System Works Twitter. “Players who pre-order digitally will be able to download the Open Beta a day early on 2/17 at 10:00 am PST, and start playing PST from 19:00.”

Those who prefer to jump into the beta can play as 13 of the 15 launch characters for Guilty Gear Strive. Here, Anji Mito will not be accessible, nor will the 15th fighter.

In terms of modes, Arc System Works offers players the opportunity to try out quite a few of them. The Strive beta includes local versus mode, tutorial, training mode, and network mode.

The beta’s online attacks are played using ‘rollback’ netcode, and ArcSys notes that you will be able to enjoy games with ‘responsiveness similar to offline games’.

A few numbers at the top will be included during the beta games on the screen indicating both the ping time and the number of rollback frames that pop up during a game. The company encourages beta testers to include the two numbers they see at the top of their screen when reporting issues with the online experience to better identify issues and improve the launch experience.
