The OnePlus Watch gets an early announcement before March 23’s announcement

OnePlus’ long-awaited first smartwatch made its first appearance ahead of the upcoming launch event on March 23, which feels increasingly irrelevant as each news item about its new product line drops into pieces online.

Fully disclosed for the first time by Unbox Therapy, the creatively named OnePlus Watch does not seem to break too much new ground when it comes to smartwatch design. There are two buttons visible on the right side of the watch (in particular there is no wheel that moves in crown style) on a watch that looks different. Also important is what standard watch straps appear to be, instead of the own straps that are popular among companies like Apple and Fitbit.

The image also gives a first look at the Watch’s new operating system, which Pete Lau, CEO of OnePlus, confirmed in a forum post. not running Wear OS, but rather an RTOS operating system. Lau’s message also promises a seamless connection to OnePlus phones, headphones and TVs and an ‘affordable price point’.

Smartphone delicious Ishan Agarwal also revealed more specific details about the specifications of the OnePlus Watch which are claimed to measure 46mm, contain IP68 water resistance and include a version of OnePlus’ Warp Charge system (which promises a week of battery life of 20 minutes). It also has 4 GB of storage and the ability to automatically view notifications, incoming calls, and workouts.

Agarwal also says that the watch will be able to detect sleep, tension, blood oxygen saturation and heartbeat – which corresponds to the four colorful detection rods seen on the watch in Unbox Therapy’s image.
