Two-time Olympic gold swimmer Klete Keller was charged on Thursday with seven different charges in connection with his alleged involvement in the riots at the U.S. Capitol last month, according to USA Today.

According to the report, Keller was indicted in the U.S. District Court in the District of Columbia for knowingly and unlawfully entering and staying in a restricted area, engaging in official government business, engaging in disorderly conduct to conduct a session of Congress disrupt and interfere with the law. enforcement of, among other things, during a civil unrest.

Keller was recognized by an FBI agent, who said he identified himself because of his height – Keller is 6 feet-6 – and the Team USA jacket he was wearing that day. He also reportedly had numerous social media posts supporting former President Donald Trump, although his accounts were eliminated.

The 38-year-old changed himself nine days after the riots at the Capitol in the Colorado government and was released unrelated. Keller, according to the Washington Post, could face more than 15 years in prison.

Keller is allegedly one of the countless violent supporters of Trump who stormed the U.S. Capitol on January 6 in an attempt to somehow overturn the election results. Five people were killed in the attacks, including a police officer, and another 140 officers were injured. The House of Representatives has since accused Trump of his involvement – meaning his second indictment. The indictment is currently pending in the Senate.

Keller has won gold twice in his career and helped Team USA win the 4x200m freestyle relay during both the 2004 Athens and 2008 Beijing Games with Michael Phelps and Ryan Lochte. He also won bronze twice in the 400m freestyle in Athens and at the 2000 Games in Sydney. The 4×200 relay team also took silver in Sydney with Keller’s help. He retired after the 2008 Games and works as a commercial real estate agent in Colorado.
