Nintendo fans with technical issues may soon have one way to contact the company if rumors are true. According to emails received by some users, the Nintendo of America Support Forums are closing. The rumors are based on an email from March 12, 2021 received by a longtime forum user who uploaded it to the Nintendo Reddit page. [Thanks, Nintendo Everything].
According to the email, the Nintendo representative noted that after more than a decade, the company decided to close the Nintendo Support Forums. In the future, it will focus on the “many other” support options. The email was sent as a form of early notification to ‘top members’ in the community, and as a thank you for their involvement, at least some of the notifiers offered free download codes of a variety of Nintendo titles.
Nintendo of America has been running its Support Forums for a long time, but they have been shrinking lately because the company no longer wants to maintain forum communities. Meanwhile, other official support lines have grown, and currently Nintendo representatives usually send customers to a contact page to find a suitable help option, which may include phone, chat, text message or a ticket system.
At the time of this writing, Nintendo of America has not confirmed whether the support forums will close or not. Meanwhile, concerns over the Nintendo Switch’s issues with Joy-Con drift have spread following a lawsuit in Canada.
