The Morning After: The Next Generation PlayStation VR Controllers Look Very Different

Although supply has not yet fully met the demand for the latest consoles, Sony and Microsoft remain silent. For Xbox, the Game Pass took advantage of two waves of games from EA and Bethesda, currently owned by Microsoft, while PlayStation tipped with a handful of free games, both AAA and indie, and gave us another look at the future of PSVR gave.

The next morning

Sony

Sony’s new VR controllers look more like spheres (or an old mobile logo) than the old Move bars, ensuring that next-generation PSVRs should at least feel more like competing VR platforms, including Oculus and HTC’s Vive . Expect, like the PSSense-DualSense controller, customizable triggers and haptic feedback, and there is also finger-touch detection that allows you to communicate with your virtual worlds by pointing. Instead of the glowing bulbs of the old Move controllers, all the control of the controls will be done by the headset itself, which can provide a more stable and accurate VR experience – when it finally gets here.

Sony warned earlier this year that you will not see its new VR headset in 2021, so this should apply to these controllers as well.

We can probably blame the metal wheels, but the Perseverance rover’s 90-foot ride in Jezero Crater on March 7 doesn’t sound chilly at all. You will hear the wheels’ wheels creaking across the surface, next to the bang and cracks of very expensive space equipment. The original survey also contains a high score that Perseverance’s engineering team is still trying to figure out. According to them, the sounds could be made by the mobility system itself, or due to electromagnetic interference. Listen for yourself. Read on.

‘Ready For’ is Samsung’s Dex for Edge Plus users.

A decade after the Atrix 4G Laptop Dock failed to change the world, Motorola is taking another step to turn your phone into a PC. Through an Android 11 update, Edge Plus users on Verizon can now connect the device to a larger screen for a desktop experience similar to Samsung’s Dex. This means you have access to all the productivity, games and streaming apps on your phone and can watch them on a monitor or TV – and even use a mouse or keyboard. Read on.

NBC

You have at least one opportunity to marathon the series without considering another entry. NBC’s Peacock streams every episode of The office free for one week from March 18, including new “Superfan” episodes (i.e. with additional footage) and behind-the-scenes videos. Until now, only the first two seasons were available for free (with ads) on Peacock. Read on.

Stella McCartney

This two-piece bustier from Stella McCartney uses panels of recycled nylon attached to panels from Mylo’s Unleather. It is a mycelium derived from the root system of fungi, and promises to act and resemble animal skin without the same environmental and ethical costs.

Unfortunately, this first outfit is not available for purchase, but it is the second product McCartney made with the artificial leather replacement. In 2018, she designed a version of her Falabella bag in the material on display at the V&A Museum in London, UK. Read on.

But it must first overcome some obstacles.

Oppo’s X 2021 features a conventional 6.7-inch smartphone screen that transforms into a mini-tablet-like 7.4-inch screen, with the former offering better portability, and the latter a better experience for video, reading, gaming and multitasking. Because the screen rolls out, it should also avoid the wrinkles that occur in other foldable screen devices. Richard Lai, editor-in-chief of Engadget Chinese, spent some time on Oppo’s evidence.
