The member of the group requests that the police in the US be terminated, which according to her is ‘intentionally racist’

The group member and the progressive Democrat from Michigan, Rashida Tlaib, claimed in a Twitter post on Monday night that the death of Daunte Wright ‘was not an accident’, because she apparently wanted to put an end to the police.

In the post, Tlaib indicated that the police system should be terminated because it could not be reformed as it was ‘inherent’ [and] intentionally racist. ‘

The progressive legislature seems to equate policing with ‘government-funded murder’.

Tlaib has in the past called for the police to be dismantled in its current form.

Her comments were posted in the wake of the death of Daunte Wright, a 20-year-old Black man, to police at a wrong stop in Minnesota over the weekend.

The officer who shot Wright is described as a senior member of the force.

A released body camera footage shows the officer shouting ‘Taser’, which led officers to describe the shooting incident as an ‘accidental dismissal’, after it was believed the officer wanted to grab a Taser, but instead fired her gun.

Wright drove away, crashed and died. He was stopped because he had expired a label on his car, and he also had an outstanding warrant.

The officer was placed on administrative leave.
