The Medium RTX trailer released

Bloober Team’s upcoming Xbox and PC exclusive The Medium will be released later this month, and the developer has released a brand new trailer to showcase the game’s use of NVIDIA RTX technology. With the launch, the game will use the technology on a computer and Microsoft DirectX Raytracing on the console. While most Xbox Series X | S-games will also be released on Xbox One, The medium will only be available on Microsoft’s next two generation systems. The game’s new trailer definitely gives viewers an idea of why this is the case, with an amazing use of ray traces. Fans of the survival-horror genre will definitely want to watch this game when it is released!

The new trailer can be found embedded below.

The reflections seen in the trailer above really show what the game will bring to the table! From the way light reflects off the walls and floors, to reflections over glass cabinets and photo frames, there is an incredible sense of atmosphere in the short trailer. While the increase in technology from the previous console generation to the new one is not nearly as important as previous generation shifts, ray tracing should make a big difference in the way developers can bring a world to life in their games.

Of course, survival horror games have always excelled in building suspense through the use of atmosphere. Bloober Team’s previous games only did this with less impressive footage, so it’s going to be interesting to see what kind of more powerful hardware will do. Clearly, the developer is looking for ways to really use next-generation technology.

For those unfamiliar with Bloober Team, the developer has previously worked on games such as Low fear, Observer, en Blair Witch. The studio in Poland clearly has the ability to create scary games, and The medium seems like this will be no exception. Whether the game can deliver an experience that lives up to the studio’s legacy remains to be seen!

The medium will be exclusive to Xbox Series X on January 28 | S and PC are released. You can see all our previous coverage of the game here.
