‘The Masked Dancer’ Episode 2 reveals the identity of the ice cube

Bill Nye, the Science Guy, has been a recreational dancer for years, a hobby he took on in 2013 with ‘Dancing with the Stars’. On Wednesday, he put it on TV again – this time on Fox’s ‘The Masked Dancer’ where he was revealed as the celebrity under the Ice Cube costume.

“If I get a chance to dance, bring it on!” New to Variety said. “I jumped on it. I like being on television. ”

As Ice Cube, Nye performed a swing dance to a cover of Lady Gaga’s “Bad Romance” by Postmodern Jukebox. The clue package, which focuses on climate change and the environment, causes Nye to be deeply involved.

“The thing that was a little annoying, you could not see your partner’s hand,” he said. ‘In swing dance or ballroom dancing, it’s the matter of the connection. You hold hands and usually the left hand of the lead and the right hand of the next. You can not see the bile’s hand, it’s a little annoying. The mask, the Ice Cube, also has shadows. When the pyro goes off [that’s difficult]. But that’s part of the show’s charm. ”

Among the panelists, Ken Jeong got it right with Nye, Brian Austin Green thought it was Bill Maher, Paula Abdul guessed for Tim Gunn and Ashley Tisdale thought it could be Al Gore.

“I wrote how you can know who someone is by the way he or she walks,” he said. “So there were some of them, I think if anyone in the swing dance community would see me and they would go,” it’s Bill Nye. ”

Keeping the secret of his appearance in the program, Nye said it applies to the family: ‘My mother was one of the code girls. She was recruited by the navy to work on the Enigma code, the German military code. And she never talked about it. She just did not want to talk about it. My nephew tried to interview her and she just did not want to divulge much. And so I claim that my family kept a secret, a skill we value. ‘

Nye was asked to compare his experience on “The Masked Dancer” with “Dancing with the Stars”. There are some similarities and differences. “The difference is that you do not have that much control over it,” he said. On ‘Dancing with the Stars’ you try to win. I at least tried to do well. But about this thing, you put on this crazy costume and just go through it and see what happens. The thing that was very much the same was working with professional extraordinary dancers. They are educators, they are just excellent teaching. And they are artists, and that’s what the two shows have in common. It was the coolest part of working with all the dancers. ‘

“The Masked Dancer” features the “Word Up” feature, in which each contestant utters a one-word clue to their identity. Nye’s ‘Word Up’ was ’90s Icon’.

This season’s costumes are Zebra, Tulip, Lazy, Exotic Bird, Cotton Candy, Cricket, Disco Ball, Moth, Ice Cube and Hammerhead. Ice-T as the Disco Ball was previously unmasked.

The show features a cast of more than 38 million albums worldwide, 20 Emmy Awards, 20 Grammy nominations, 10 World Dance titles, five New York Times bestsellers, four Olympic gold medals and three Broadway appearances. ”

Here were the other contestants and their performances in episode two, “Group B Premiere – New Year, new mask! (Who Dis?) ”:

Vote on: ‘Do you think I’m slow like other sloths? Think again! I’m the muscles from the jungle. I’m not kidding. I worked hard to get where I am today. When I was a kid, I had a bad accident. People fell down with me and got dirty. And said I was just a Mickey Mouse operation. But I did not give up, and now I wake up stronger every day than I did yesterday. And when I do what I do most, I feel alive! I’m here to inspire a whole new generation to never stop pursuing your dreams. But you do not have to call the Feds, OK? If you have never been told that you are not good enough, or that you should give up, then this dance is for you. ‘

Dance: “Magalehna,” by Sergio Mendes
Word on: “Come back”
Vote on: “You haven’t seen me in a while. To be honest, I kind of fell out of the spotlight. But I know a thing or two about running a low gas tank. I grew up in a rough neighborhood where there was only one kind of love: sticky love. New kids moving to my block just meant more street fights. Those teens made me ache in my heart. There was only one direction to go up. It was time to earn my stripes and get bigger than life. All the years fast forward, and now the president knows my name. I’ll tell you, sometimes my life feels really upside down. But being on this show right now is so important to me. It’s part of my second industry, and to shift back to a higher gear. Once I’m up and running again, I’ll never stop. ”

But to pursue my dreams, I had to move in with a new family. I was just a kid and got so homesick. I was having trouble keeping up. But if I’ve learned something in my life, when it’s going hard, I can not just stop. I’m a fighter. A new plan gave me a safe haven to move on. With their support, I feel more glamorous than ever. And now nothing can stop me from being on top. Even what happened during my practice yesterday. ” [A fall from above the stage.]

Next, I’m making headlines with the president. I had a traumatic experience that could not have gone through much. And in turn, my life changed forever. But I’m a survivor. Therefore, I decided that if I could not escape the spotlight, I would use it to shine things I care about the most. So I took control of my fame. And now I thrive in the spotlight. ”
