Lifelong Star Wars fan Katee Sackhoff reveals that she is manifesting the role of Bo-Katan Kryze in season 2 of The Mandalorian.
Long live Star Wars fan and action star Katee Sackhoff reveals how she plays her live-action role of Bo-Katan Kryze in Season 2 of The Mandalorian by time jokes.
“When I was a little kid, I idolized male action stars because there weren’t many female stars in the ’80s,” the actor says of the Inside of You With Michael Rosenbaum podcast. “We had the Sigourney Weaver’s, the Linda Hamilton’s and the Lucy Lawless’, but we also had Princess Leia who was smart and dirty and beautiful and a ballbuster, capable and caring and so well rounded.” She added: ‘I have loved since childhood Star Wars. “

Sackhoff added that she regularly joked with her agent that she had any role in the Star Wars universe – no matter how small. “If they call me a rock in a Star WarsI’ll be a rock, just to be in this world, ‘said the actor.
When she was offered to agree to Upper Katan Star Wars: The Clone Wars, Sackhoff accepted the role with no hesitation. “A female Mandalorian warrior? Um, hello!” she said. ‘I remember, many times as we did, [Mandalorian executive producer Dave Filoni] and I joke: ‘Yanno, one day if that happens, she can exist in these worlds …’ ‘
‘I always joked [Dave] because I never thought it would happen, “she told Rosenbaum. Of course they will recreate it! They’ll hire Scarlett Johansson or something. Sackhoff added: “But when Mandalorian when he came out and I saw him at Celebration, I made a joke about Yanno Bo-Katan, wink, hug, hug: ‘I’ve been playing such characters for 15 years, mate!’
However, Sackhoff only became real when she met The Mandaloriancreator Jon Favreau. “It took me halfway through the meeting to realize that he was actually talking about me doing Upper Katan,” she said. “I remember sitting across from him, completely without body experience and thinking to myself, ‘Is he? Oh, these are pictures of me on the wall! Oh, what’s going on?'” He offered her the role in the room without asking Sackhoff to audition for the part.
Before joining Upper Katan in season 2 of The Mandalorian, Sackhoff has the character in both the Star Wars Rebels and Star Wars: The Clone Wars animated series. But even after being in The Mandalorian, she’s still pinching herself. “My mind was broken that they did not just have the mind to do it,” she concluded. “But they believed in me and allowed me.”
Created by Jon Favreau, The Mandalorian plays Pedro Pascal, Gina Carano, Carl Weathers and Giancarlo Esposito. Seasons 1 and 2 are now streaming on Disney +.
